Anak aku kecoh2 tanya, 'mana kek. kan hari ni jadi omi?' Ayu pulak dah buat skrip sendiri. dia kata, 'ooo.. malam nanti semua datang ramai2 kan? semua nak tengok jadi omi' - wahai anak2, itu semua berlaku waktu bday korang - only bcoz ur uwan insist! she loves it when all her anak cucu berkumpul. but that rule doesn't applied to omi. omi loves a quiet bday. Tapi beli juga la kek kecik utk tidak menghampakan diorang semua.
hmm... nak beli apa yek utk hadiah kpd diri sendiri?
[cerita ayu]
Ayu mmg kuat bercerita, interwined between reality & anything-stored-in-her-memory kind of stories. ada satu pagi tu, lepas mandi dia cakap,
'omi, tuala kena sidai kan? tuala kanak-kanak letak kat luar. tuala ibu bapa letak kat bilik. nanti lama-lama, tuala tu keluar bunga coklat. bunga coklat dah busuk kan? tuala baru bunga warna pink kan?'
Aku perlu beberapa detik utk faham cerita ini... *refer to iklan downy, fabric softener.. :)
Kalau aku marah dan membebel kat abang iman & abang iqbal. ayu pun sama nak menumpang sekaki. contohnya, hari tu aku marah si iqbal sebab malas nak buat homework. si ayu pun menambah sesedap rasa;
'omi, kalau dah sekolah kena buat homework kan? kalau tak buat homework cikgu marah kan? ayu buat homework. kalau abang iqbal tak buat homework dia tak boleh sekolah kan? nanti dia kena masuk tadika balik kan? sebab tak reti kira. ayu suka sekolah. ayu dah pandai kira. *sambil tunjuk tiga jari* tengok ni omi, satu dua tiga...'
Haih... enterframe betul minah sorang nih..... could u please let omi do all membebel punya keje?

a dozen cupcake
dah lama rasanya tak buat cupcakes. resepi yg ada semuanya jenis pukal, jenuh berejam2 duduk kat dapur bakar kek batch by batch. jadi, aku pun search internet utk resepi yg mudah, have simple ingredients, dan bakar kat oven pun sekali harung je. Thanks Laura for the recipe. :) This is a very moist vanilla cupcake. amat sesuai di makan waktu bersantai2 kat rumah.

For the cakes
4 oz (110 g) Self raising flour *guna measuring jug, lebih kurang kat level 100g*
4 oz (110 g) Caster sugar *1/2cup dah cukup, tak manis sgt*
4 oz (110 g) Unsalted butter - soften *100g butter, potong ikut garis pembalut from 250g butter*
1 tsp Baking powder
2 Large free range eggs *hentam sajala, apa2 yg ada dalam fridge*
1 tsp Vanilla extract
For the buttercream
5 oz (140 g) Unsalted butter *ambil baki butter tadi - 150g *
10 oz (280 g) Icing sugar *1 cup icing sugar*
Food colouring (Optional)
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 160°C / 325°F / Gas mark 3. Don't forget that all ovens vary so you may need to adjust the temperature and cooking time accordingly.
2. Line a cake or muffin tray with your paper cake cases.
3. Mix the butter with an electric whisk until it is light in colour.
4. Add the sugar and whisk again until soft and fluffy.
5. Add the eggs and the vanilla and mix again.
6. Sieve the flour and baking powder into your bowl and mix one more time.
7. Divide the mixture between the cake cases and bake in the oven for about twenty minutes *kena tambah masa membakar sbb at this point, kek aku masih kuning. tambah lagi 20mins baru masak. lepas ni aku nak try adjust suhu, tukar jadik 180°C*. The cakes are cooked when they are golden brown and they spring back when touched. Place the cakes on a wire rack to cool.
8. To make the buttercream whisk the soft butter and gradually add the icing sugar a bit at a time. Add some colour if you fancy it and mix well. Fill a piping bag fitted with a large star nozzle with the buttercream and pipe a swirl of it on top of each cake. Decorate as you wish!

preparation time: less than 30mins. jgn letak banyak sgt, habih melimpah. isi separuh jek. actually boleh dapat lebih drpd 12 ketul, maybe sbb bekas ni kecik. lepas cover dengan icing baru nampak lawa sikit. heh heh.
